At Potlatch Veterinary Clinic we are always excited and willing to help educate pet owners on the recommended vaccines for their pet’s lifestyle. Be it dog or cat, we carry high quality, Elanco Ultra, core vaccines for each species. This line of vaccines all consist of highly purified ½ mL doses (half the volume of the majority of pet vaccines), which can minimize discomfort and reduce unwanted protein and debris in the vaccine.

The vaccines that we recommend here at Potlatch Veterinary Clinic are for those diseases that are found in our area. For dogs this includes Distemper, Adenovirus and Parvovirus which can be vaccinated for with a combo (DAP) dose. The DAP vaccine we use will protect your pup for 1-3 years depending on vaccine history. It can also be given with or without the addition of the Leptospirosis vaccine which may also be recommended for your pup after a discussion regarding their lifestyle. We also have the Bordatella vaccine available for those dogs that interact with many others of their kind, either at dog parks or in boarding or grooming facilities.

For cats, we vaccinate with the FVRCP combo vaccine (Feline herpesvirus, Calicivirus and Panleukopenia). The FVRCP vaccine we use will protect your kitty for up to 3 years depending on vaccine history. It can also be given with or without the addition of the Feline Leukemia Virus vaccine, which may or may not be recommended for your kitty based on lifestyle.

Rabies is always recommended for both species and will protect your pet for 1-3 years, dependent on vaccine history. It is often required by city ordinances, kennels, groomers and veterinary clinics for animals that require treatment. At Potlatch Veterinary Clinic, we use a high-grade Thimerosal Free Rabies vaccine to help protect your pet and your family.
