At Potlatch Veterinary Clinic, we are able to provide the producer with pregnancy evaluation services. These services include: ultrasound diagnosis of pregnancy and blood collection for pregnancy diagnosis. Ultrasound diagnostic services allow the veterinarian to visualize the fetus to assess health and viability. This allows aging of the fetus depending on the stage of pregnancy and position of the fetus. Pregnancy diagnosis by blood collection allows the owner to detect pregnancy earlier and restart the AI protocol if needed.
What is the earliest that blood can be pulled for pregnancy diagnosis?
Blood can be collected as soon as 28 days post breeding for cattle and 30 days for goats and sheep.
